So, I promised to bring you lots of recipes to prepare for the holiday season. This is the first of many appetizers that I plan to test and share. These crostinis are a simple, yet elegant appetizer or hors d’oeuvre that can be served at your next party!
To make 6 crostinis, you will need:
- 6 1/2″ slices of baguette
- 1/4c freshly grated Parmesan, Asiago, or Romano cheese
- 2 slices prosciutto
- 1 garlic clove
- freshly ground black pepper, pinch
Begin by preheating the broiler in your oven.
Slice up a portion of baguette to obtain six 1/2″ slices.
Arrange the slices on a baking sheet and broil for about a minute, or until lightly toasted. Slice the garlic clove and rub each slice of baguette with a cut side of garlic.
Grate your cheese in the meantime, if you haven’t already.
Top the toasted slices with the cheese, dividing evenly.
Broil for an additional minute or two, or until the cheese melts.
Divide the prosciutto evenly, and use it to top each crostini. Sprinkle with just a pinch of freshly ground black pepper.
Serve and enjoy! 🙂
